Tissue Paper Flower Project- CHECK!

So, yesterday I gave you an outline of the projects that I found on Pinterest and that I hope to finish over the next few weeks. I got this idea from a picture, but decided to do it a little differently. Here's a tutorial that I made up myself (I just took the tissue paper and went with it), and it is somewhat similar to the technique I used on my spring mantle. This time, however, I didn't take the time to cut the tissue paper in the shapes of petals, I just kinda did this instead:

1.) Cut squares of tissue paper. It's a better if they're a little more on the rectangular side.

2.) Gather each piece in the center of the square and pinch.

3.) Twist the pinched portion of the square until you have enough surface area to hot glue to the stick. Fluff the top of the "flower" to give it a full look.

4.) Hot glue to the ends of branches, highlighting each part that pokes out by gluing a flower on it.

5.) Place branches in a large vase/ jar and have a needlessly long photoshoot.
(I'll have a tutorial for the doily bunting banner in the background of this picture later this week!)

I stuck the flowers in a large beverage container until I get white sand to put in the bottom of the vase that I'm really going to use. Although this arrangement is starting to grow on me...

I'm kind of in love with the contrast between the hot pink flowers and the blue/ gray wall in the background. Hmm...

And here's a sneak peek at the Top Secret project that I'm working on! I got another package in the mail (courtesy of Etsy) that I cannot wait to show you!

    1. Hi Gage! I actually hot-glued some strings to the backs of the plates. It worked like a charm!

I appreciate you taking the time and energy to put this information together.

I love your comments like I love a glass of red wine, a slow Van Morrison song, and freshly swiffered floors...which is, like, a lot.
