My First Painting!

So.....

I painted something.

A painting...I think?

I bought this canvas at Goodwill for $2. It had a picture of an angel and a house that was clearly painted by a four-year-old (and yes, I did feel a little bad about painting over it). I wanted something a little abstract for the dining room- something that used all of the colors of my house. So, I gathered together a bunch of grays, teals, blues, and greens, and plopped the paint on the canvas. I used a spray gun with water in it, and let the paint run down in streaks. When it dried, it turned it over and did the same thing to the other side.

Here is the final result!

I'm not sure if I like it or not, but I'm leaving it up to see if I can get used to it :)

So what do you think? Be honest!

  4. When I first saw it, I was thinking it looked similar to all the crayon melting projects I've seen, but this is much more sophisticated. I like that it was done on both sides. It sort of looks like a cluster of trees in snow too. I like it.

I love your comments like I love a glass of red wine, a slow Van Morrison song, and freshly swiffered floors...which is, like, a lot.
